Ray Hartwell joined the Board of Directors of The Hope of Survivors in April 2008. He is currently the President of the Pennsylvania Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, where his mission is to share the truth about Jesus, the joy of His soon return and the power of His transforming grace with the 12.5 million residents of Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming President of the Conference in 2003, he served as the executive secretary and ministerial director of the Pennsylvania Conference, as a pastor in Columbia, South Carolina, in Columbia, Missouri, and in the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference.
Ray and his wife Jeanne have a son, Josh, and a daughter, Abby. When not serving in ministry, they enjoy riding motorcycles, reading non-fiction, working in their garden, hiking, racquetball and photography.
As a pastor and now Conference President, Ray understands the importance of maintaining integrity in ministry and is pleased to be a part of an organization dedicated to helping pastors remain faithful to their calling, and to helping those who have been abused by pastors and spiritual leaders.
