Hephzibah K. Akunga

Hephzibah AkungaHephzibah, pictured with her late husband (Dr. I.A. Onyang), lives in Nairobi, Kenya with her four children. She is a recognized natural practitioner in the Kenya Government, under the Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture, and Social Services. She is also a Literature Evangelist and Lifestyle Educator.

She trained at Gusii Institute of Science and Technology and Kenya Institute of Administration for her computer course and other advanced computer courses at ICL, Kenya, Insight Computers and Macintosh Computers for Desktop Publishing.

She has worked with the Kenya Government and Kenya Management Assistance Programme in various capacities and has attended various courses and workshops in business management, women’s ministries, health ministries, Christian health services, and business growth development.

She has worked closely with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Christian Health Associations in Africa, and has also been involved in the ARHAP and PIRHANA workshop in the implementation stages in Kenya. Being a member of ASI, she has attended several International and Local conventions, and has been involved in health lectures in various interdenominational churches. She is currently taking a seven year Bible Study Fellowship program with BSF International.

Hephzibah has experience in natural healing prescriptions, counseling, and healing processes. After undergoing training in Wildwood, GA, USA and Chaplaincy Ministries in Kenya, she has lots of interest—and a heavenly call—in healing and assisting the hurting in various communities. She has compiled several works of literature, such as, What Every Man Should Know—The Prostate, What Every Woman Should Know—Cancer and the Bra, Prayer for the Sick, Caring for Patients/Aids Patients at Home, and The Kitchen—Home Pharmacy.

Hephzibah also started Help For Today and Help For Tomorrow, which is involved in the Gospel advancement through the Healing Ministry. She enjoys spreading literature in all capacities and opportunities seen, including Bibles to the unreached communities assisted by Christian Mission Aid, Kenya.

After meeting Hephzibah in 2006 and discussing the possibilities of a division in Kenya, we are pleased to announce that Hephzibah joined The Hope of Survivors in 2007 in order to assist pastoral sexual abuse victims in her native country of Kenya. Hephzibah says, “I thank God for you and your ministry. It is what the clergy [and the church] needs today. Many are suffering, but there is no one to give them encouragement or hope. I have found that The Hope of Survivors is quite unique in its formation and operation. I am praying for God to touch the hearts of many, and more expecially, for the funds to be available so that you can be able to replicate through training in other countries.”

If you live in Kenya, and are a victim of pastoral sexual abuse, you may contact Hephzibah directly at 0721 716822 or 0733 924051.
