the Hope of Survivors the Hope of Survivors

Annette Anderson

Annette AndersonAnnette understands the complex dynamics of clergy sexual abuse as a survivor of her own painful ordeal. Much of her story’s been detailed in the book A Twisted Faith by Gregg Olsen, as well as on an episode of Dateline NBC (Twisted Faith, April 2010).

The Hope of Survivors offered their support during a critical stage in Annette’s journey of healing and restoration. “I only wish this ministry had existed during the time of my abuse,” says Annette. “Looking back, I think I would have been able to understand what was happening, and find the way out of my situation much sooner.”

As a volunteer with The Hope of Survivors, Annette is passionate about getting the word out regarding the damage of clergy sexual abuse. Her desire is that the trust of God’s people will be honored in all places of worship, and for those who have suffered under any form of spiritual abuse, that they be restored and healed.

Annette currently resides in the beautiful Willamette Valley with her husband and four children. Her family attends Grace Community Church in Dallas, Oregon. In addition to her work at an alternative high school, Annette enjoys reading, writing, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends.
